In every generation a death blow is born: one girl in the whole world, a chosen one. But then she grows up and decides to hang herself leather pants and leave the killing to someone else.
It’s been almost three years since we heard any news about the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reload /not a recharge. The new version of the beloved series was announced in 2018 with Monica Owusu-Breen (Agents of SHIELD, Midnight, Texas) appointed priest. But the original Buffy from TV, Sarah Michelle Gellar, made one thing clear: her days of killing are over.
Gellar has on the On with Mario Lopez podcast and when asked about the possibility that she was going to pick up the pole again, she said that she was a “Woe beet, how do they say, long in the tooth for it,” and “completely too tired and insane to get the to put in work. ”Girl, same.
The program was, after all, “a metaphor for the horror of adolescence“She said to the good Sir Slater. ‘I do think the story lends itself – it will be interesting to see how a chosen one will handle it. I do not think it’s me, I should not be the one doing it. ”
G / O Media can get a commission
This is no surprise, given her verdict on Joss Whedon, and how fully she is associated with him. When the news of the recharge first came down, the property was owned by 20th Century Fox, and Whedon’s involvement was confirmed. We do not yet know what effect the allegations have against Whedon or his new ownership at Disney means for the future of Buffy as we know it, but if the series finale taught us anything, the Slayer is much more than just one person.
