Sarah Fuller, history kicker, will attend Biden’s presidential inauguration

Sarah Fuller, who became the first woman to play this season and score a point in a Power 5 college football game, will add another highlight to her resume on Wednesday.

The former Vanderbilt kicker announced on Twitter on Sunday that she was participating in Joe Biden’s presidential inauguration. She apparently recorded a video for the inauguration last week in Vanderbilt’s football stadium.

“It is an honor to be invited to participate in one of America’s greatest traditions,” Fuller wrote. “This historic inauguration is especially significant for American women and girls. The glass ceilings are breaking and it’s time to take #LeadLikeAWoman.”

Fuller was asked to kick for the football team after COVID-19 specialized through a few players of the team.

Fuller successfully executed a squib head during the team’s game against Missouri, and she scored two extra points in a loss to Tennessee.

Fuller attracted the attention of athletes across the country, and she talked about a role model for young girls.

“I love it so much, it’s so wonderful,” Fuller said. “When I went to a college game or watched older girls’ growing up years, I felt the same way and looked at them. It’s really cool to be a college athlete now and be that inspiration.”

Fuller, who was a goalie for the Commodores’ women’s soccer team, announced last year that she would continue her collegiate career in North Texas.
