San Francisco opens vaccines for those 16 and older in these zip codes

San Francisco took the COVID-19 vaccine into account for the general population in communities hardest hit by the pandemic before the April 15 expansions in the country.

Anyone 16 years and older can now book an appointment if they live in one of the following eight zip codes: 94124, 94134, 94107, 94110, 94112, 94102, 94103 and 94130.

These zip codes span Bayview, Hunters Points, Visitacion Valley, Portola, Sunnydale, Excelsior, Mission, Oceanview, Ingleside, Balboa Park, Potrero Hill, the Dogpatch, Mission Bay, SoMa, Tenderloin and Treasure Island.

Anyone 16 years and older living in these zip codes can visit one of the two vaccination sites that should not be booked: Zuckerberg San Francisco General at 1001 Potrero Ave. is open daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Southeast Health Center at 2401 Keith St. is open daily from 09:00 to 15:00. The only vaccine approved for the age of 16 to 17 years is the Pfizer survey available at these two sites.

Anyone 18 years and older in one of these areas can visit the Southeastern Health Center at Keith St. Daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 2401 inloer. This place has the Moderna vaccine.

In the San Francisco General and in the Southeastern Health Center, parental guardianship must be obtained, city officials said. Anyone between the ages of 16 or 17 who receives the vaccine must be accompanied by a parent guardian.

On April 15, the state will be eligible for vaccine for all people 16 years and older. San Francisco moves ahead of the state in certain zip codes.

“The state of California offers discretion to providers that serve high-impact areas, over whom to vaccinate to support prioritization of communities most affected by the pandemic,” city officials said in a statement. “In short, it is in line with state guidelines.”

A few other provinces have taken a similar step. Vaccination in the Contra Costa and Santa Clara provinces is fully open, though it is difficult to find appointments.

Alameda County extends the COVID-19 vaccine eligible for Thursday to the general population in vulnerable communities hardest hit by the pandemic. Anyone 16 years and older can now book an appointment if they live in one of the 12 zip codes that span Hayward, Oakland, San Leandro and San Lorenzo: 94601, 94603, 94605, 94606, 94607, 94621, 94541, 94544, 94545, 94577, 94578 and 94580.
