San Francisco issues guidelines for safe sex in the Coronavirus era

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the San Francisco Department of Public Health issued guidance on safe sex in the coronavirus era.

“Wearing a well-fitting mask that covers the mouth and nose while having sex with other people will further reduce the risk,” the press release read.

The guide contains a wide range of advice, from cleaning sex toys, to virtual sex to the dangers of ‘forced’:

If you are not yet on the road, or you have interviewed or have not yet moved on to those who live with you, or sexual encounters are not openly discussed in your household, focus on your emotional security and see if there are ways to enhance or secure your privacy.

The guidelines also address voyeurism and claim that one should stay at least six meters away from other people.

A warning about ‘hot and heavy breathing’ reads:

COVID-19 [Chinese coronavirus] is spread when we breathe and is especially spread when someone coughs, sneezes and even when he sings. Increased respiration, such as wheezing, whining, whining or screaming, increases exhalation, and also increases the risk of COVID-19 spreading.

There is no mention of celibacy or pregnancy in the health guidelines, but it does compare the risk of getting coronavirus with sexually transmitted diseases and suggests that a ‘sex partner’ may prevent the spread of the virus.
The San Francisco Chronicle report on the guidance:

Of course, having sex with someone outside your household is not currently strictly allowed. According to California rules for “purple levels” counties, which include the entire Bay Area, people are not allowed to visit outside homes, masked and six feet away. It would seem that it prevents sex. But perhaps a dose of realism is needed, as Valentine’s Day approaches. The San Francisco Department of Public Health, which is being asked for comment on the document, noted that it first published safer sex guidance in 2020, and ‘the safer sex guidance was updated this week to bring the latest science back to COVID-19. to give. ”

The guidance also tells people to ’embrace dirty thoughts and clean surfaces’.
