The San Diego man who broke into an elephant shell with his 2-year-old daughter is expected to appear in court on charges of child abuse as he remains in jail on bail.
Jose Manuel Navarrete, 25, entered the elephant enclosure in the San Diego Zoo with his daughter on Friday, posing for photos and video before fleeing when an elephant charged them.
The video shows the whole incident, also when Navarrete apparently dropped his daughter while fleeing from the elephant.
Navarrete is facing a charge of child abuse, including possible injury or death, and is being held on $ 100,000 bail on Monday morning.
