San Diego police have reportedly declared an illegal assembly while facing Trump supporters and protesters on Saturday.
The protest also prompted police to warn residents to stay away from the Pacific Beach intersection “due to violence.”
Local subsidiary FOX 5 San Diego tweeted a number of photos and videos of the event, showing the two groups, and police are trying to stop the situation from escalating.
“Rocks and bottles are being thrown at officers,” police tweeted. “Pepper spray (OC) from the crowd is being sprayed on officers.”
Police promised that “actions will be taken” against the attacks on the police.

According to KPBS, about 50 Trump protesters and 200 anti-protesters were present. The protests started around 13:00
All groups appear to have left the area by 6 p.m., and police said they would arrest anyone returning or staying in the area.
At least three people have been arrested for refusing to distribute, according to NBC 7 San Diego.

In a video posted online, a group of black-clad protesters, one displaying an “Antifascist action” banner, could be heard singing “racists go home” at the entrance to Crystal Pier.
