San Diego Padres star, shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr., has been placed on the 10-day injured list, but he does not need to be operated on after the latest injury to his troublesome left shoulder, general manager AJ Preller said Tuesday.
Tatis sustained the injury during a hard swing on Monday, leaving behind San Diego’s 3-2 defeat to the San Francisco Giants. The Padres said Monday that Tatis had a shoulder subluxation, which is a partial dislocation of the joint.
Preller said Tuesday that further examinations show a slight labrum tear corresponding to a subluxation. He said the injury is non-surgical.
The Padres hope Tatis can return as soon as ten days. Preller said the shortstop has full range of motion and that he wants to be in the lineup on Tuesday.
