San Diego Padres’ Dinelson Lamet leaves for 29 places with forearm stiffness

SAN DIEGO – San Diego Padres’ right-hand man Dinelson Lamet left his season-ending debut on Wednesday after two pointless innings due to the strained right arm.

Lamet looked to be hitting well against the Milwaukee Brewers and hitting four after a single to start the game. He threw 19 shots from 29 stands and reached 97 km / h on his fast ball.

The Brewers won 4-2.

Lamet, 28, has not pitched since leaving his last start of 2020 with the discomfort of the elbow and missed the playoffs. He received several opinions that surgery was not necessary and underwent platelet-rich plasma treatment in the off-season.

Lamet was operated on by Tommy John in 2018 and only returned in the second half of 2019.

Lamet started 3-1 in 12 last year when he finished fourth in the vote for the National League Cy Young Award. He averaged 12.1 strikeouts per game and had a 2.09 ERA, the third best in the NL.

His quick exit came a day after left-hander Adrian Morejon operated on Tommy John.
