Samsung Galaxy is now the exclusive mobile partner of Twitch Rivals, a year-long agreement with which the companies will collaborate on exclusive events and Twitch content.

The partnership examines many subjects for Samsung. First, it helps to increase the Samsung Galaxy product range and more specifically the 5G package mobile devices. Secondly, it’s a smart move for a manufacturer of a display and mobile devices during a moment in history more people play than ever before. Utilizing Twitch’s network of streamers at a time when he was a explosion in viewers certainly does not hurt at all.

Twitch Rivals and Samsung will be collaborating on a number of mobile challenges, promoting mobile superstars for games and tournaments through a regular series called Mobile Mondays presented by Samsung that will be handing out cash prizes. Clearly, Samsung has managed to sweeten the pot for Galaxy and Twitch users with ‘additional benefits’. While it is unclear what the bonus benefits will entail, it is definitely a smart way to sell phones.

“Samsung’s leading mobile gaming devices will allow gamers to not only stream their favorite Twitch Rivals content, but also participate fully in the unparalleled chat and interactivity that feeds the Twitch community,” said Lou Garate, Global Head of Sponsorship Sales at Twitch, said in a statement. “As live streaming and e-sports continue to grow exponentially, we look forward to working with Samsung to help the relevant and dedicated gaming audience access their Twitch Rivals content, wherever and whenever they want it.”

Samsung and Twitch begin their partnership with a live Twitch Rivals stream at 4pm ET Wednesday before Samsung’s big Milky Way unpacked event on Thursday. The Galaxy Unpacked event will launch on the Twitch platform – you suspect – from 10 a.m. ET.
