Samsung reportedly brought Quick Share and other apps to Windows 10

Samsung is reportedly releasing new apps for Windows 10, including Quick Share, which will make it easy to share photos, videos and documents from Galaxy devices to your computer. But that’s not all.

According to a report by ALumia, Samsung is preparing three apps: Quick Share, Samsung Free and Samsung O. All three apps are expected to be available in the Microsoft Store.

As mentioned, Samsung Quick Share will allow Galaxy devices to quickly share images, videos and documents with Windows 10 laptops and computers. As long as your phone has one UI 2 on board, you can share content via Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth or with devices supported by Samsung’s SmartThings platform. ALumia reports that Quick Share is already arriving on some Windows 10 devices.

ALumia claims Samsung will also release Samsung Free (formerly Samsung Daily) for Windows 10, which, if true, would be a pretty important version. Samsung Free offers TV shows, news articles and games in one convenient app.

For example, in the Watch section of Samsung Free, you get access to a variety of TV channels from Samsung TV Plus, an excellent service recently launched on mobile devices. The Read section shows the latest headlines from various news sources, while the Play section includes free games.

Lastly, Samsung is apparently introducing something called the Samsung O for Windows 10. It’s not entirely clear what the app is, but it is. ALumia speculate this is a kind of clone app. It is understood that Samsung O will be available in the Microsoft Store for the next few days.

Samsung has formed a strong relationship with Microsoft. In August last year, the two companies announced a long-term, strategic partnership “to bring seamless productivity experiences across devices, applications and services.” The launch of these three programs appears to be part of the new partnership. We will let you know as soon as it is available.
