Samsung may soon release a cheaper version of its Galaxy Tab S7

Android tablets usually fall far behind Apple’s iPad line. But if there is one OEM that can be competitive, it is Samsung. The company produced the fantastic Galaxy Tab S7 last year, and a new rumor suggests that we’re about to launch a more affordable version.

Twitter account WalkingCat published what appears to be marketing material for the Galaxy Tab S7 Lite. There is not a lot of information that fits the image, but we are learning some important pieces. Namely, the Galaxy Tab S7 Lite has a 12.4-inch screen and 5G connection. The device will reportedly also support Samsung’s Galaxy Continuity feature, which allows users to receive calls and messages from a compatible Galaxy phone.

When the Galaxy Tab S7 was launched last year, we had nothing but praise for the tablet. In fact, NDA’s Nirave Gondhia thought the device was so good that it’s sold its iPad Pro. Very few tablets can match the high quality of Apple’s iPad series, so choosing the Tab S7 over an iPad Pro is highly praised.

It is unlikely that the rumored Tab S7 Lite will be as powerful as the Tab S7. We can probably expect diluted specifications and differences in build quality. But it has to come at a cheaper price, and you get the larger 12.4-inch screen that matches that of the Galaxy Tab S7 Plus. The device also has a 10,090 mAh battery and up to 8 GB of RAM.

The Galaxy Tab S7 was launched for $ 649. We do not know how much the Galaxy Tab S7 Lite will sell when it launches, but hopefully it will be in the range of $ 499 (or even cheaper). According to the image shared by WalkingCat, the new tablet will be available in June this year, along with the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, which reportedly features an 8.7-inch screen and a thin metal design.
