When it comes to Android tablets, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S7 is without a doubt one of the best experiences you can get. Just a month ago, the Korean OEM introduced the latest version of its custom Android skin to the flagship tablet in the form of One UI 3.1, which brought a bunch of new productivity possibilities. It seems that Samsung has more to offer the Galaxy Tab S7 community as the company is now getting ready to release another major software update to further enhance the S Pen experience.

One of the biggest new features in the upcoming update is the expansion of the handwriting feature of the S Pen to more text fields that would otherwise be limited to the on-screen keyboard. For example, Galaxy Tab S7 owners should be able to use the S Pen for handwriting in address boxes once the new build is installed. The underlying algorithm also allows for digitization of punctuation. There is also a handy gesture mechanism, such as drawing a ‘v’ between words will leave a space, while ‘⌒’ will connect separate words.
To use the Pen to Text feature, users must first enable it by checking Settings> Advanced Function> S Pen> S Pen to Text, or to Settings> General Management> Samsung Keyboard Settings> S Pen to Text. What’s more interesting is that the same feature is available with Samsung Notes, which comes in handy for people who are actively using the Galaxy Tab S7 to record notes.
The tablets also get new camera capabilities related to document scanning. You can now tap the ‘Confirm’ icon in the Samsung Notes app, select the ‘Scan’ option, and blow! The document becomes readily available for making notes about it. It may not be as big a change as the S Pen text feature, but Samsung has indeed streamlined the note-taking process by building the feature right into the Notes app.

The above features will expand on the Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S7 + by the end of February. As soon as Samsung announces the update, we will notify you.
