After multiple leaks and teasers, Samsung has finally picked up its new Galaxy F62 in India today. After the Galaxy F41 of the past year, the latest entry in the Galaxy F series made the impression with some impressive hardware in the lower-middle range, as it looks like it will challenge current category dominators Xiaomi and Realme . The Galaxy F62 has a huge battery, a powerful processor and capable camera hardware, which will definitely make people like Mi 10i and Realme X7 stand out.

The Galaxy F62 has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Full HD + panel on the front that is covered under Gorilla Glass 3.. This is a 60Hz panel. At the rear is a four-camera setting, consisting of a 64MP Sony IMX682 sensor, a 12MP wide-angle camera and 5MP depth and macro sensors. There is a 32MP selfie camera on the front. The device is also powered by the Single Take mode, introduced with the Galaxy S20 series, which according to Samsung can now take up to 10 photos and 4 videos.
The processing package is also hugely powerful, with Samsung’s homemade Exynos 9825 octane core SoC leading, along with Mali-G76 GPU, up to 8 GB RAM and 128 GB UFS 3.0 flash storage.
However, it is the massive 7,000 mAh battery that grabs the headline here, and rightly so. Except for Samsung’s own Galaxy M51, you will not find any other smartphone in the middle segment that offers such a large battery. The Galaxy F41 already had a fairly large 6,000 mAh battery, so Samsung is pushing things further with the Galaxy F62. The battery charges via a 25W fast charger which is carried along with the phone.
Other highlights of the Galaxy F62 include a 3.5mm audio jack, microSD card support, a fingerprint reader on the side, NFC and wired reverse charging support. The phone has Android 11 out-of-the-box with the Samsung UI Core 3.1 on top and supports Knox 3.7, Samsung Pay and Quick Switch.
