Samsung was once one of the worst in the Android world in terms of big and small updates, but in 2021 it is probably better than Pixel. Now Samsung is expanding the April 2021 security update to its large range of smartphones, including Galaxy S21, S20, A52, and more.
The April security was technically not fully introduced when Samsung launched. Google is following a pattern to extend the update of its Pixel smartphones on the first Monday of each month, this month on April 5th.
Samsung April 2021 Security Update – What’s New
The same date on April 5 is officially set out on the changes and safety improvements made to the patch. It therefore offers a lack of information when Samsung launches the April 2021 security update in the series, which starts at the end of March, at least from a technical point of view of the security changes.
However, Samsung will also regularly bring minor UI tweaks to its monthly security updates, and the April 2021 patch is no different. As captured by the people at SamMobile, one of the notable changes is an extension of the portrait mode. The feature was previously limited to the tele- and ultra-wide cameras only on some devices, but the April patch appears to be functional to the main camera.

Which devices are ready to get the April 2021 update from Samsung? The list of devices currently receiving monthly updates is quite large, and as of April 1, several models have already been updated. You can see devices that have been updated so far in the list below.

Galaxy S Series
Samsung’s true flagship series is usually one of the first to see monthly updates, and this month the launch began on March 29 with the current flagship family, the Galaxy S21 series. The download of S21 devices weighs more than 1 GB and was started in India but has since expanded on a mostly global scale. The update has been extended to the S20 FE and S10 series, and on April 1 it will appear on the Galaxy S9 + in Germany. On April 2, the Galaxy S10 Lite took off and the update was also seen on the Galaxy S20 Ultra on T-Mobile.

Galaxy A Series
The mid-range Galaxy A series is perhaps one of the best updates of affordable smartphones, and the latest version, Galaxy A52, is already getting its update in April. The expansion of the A52 began on 30 March.

Milk folding
Samsung’s super premium foldable smartphones are sometimes slow to get major updates, but they’re on the go with monthly security solutions. The April patch hit Galaxy Z Fold 2 on March 29 and has been since expanded. The update is also available on the original Galaxy Fold from March 31st.

Galaxy Note Series
While the Note stares in the course of death, the support does not really touch. On March 29, the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ will launch for the April patch and on April 1, the update of Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra will begin in certain regions, including US carriers such as AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon.
