Sam’s Club said on Monday that it is now selling the Echelon Fitness Sport-Connected Bike, an alternative to the bike offered by Peloton Interactive Inc. PTON was created,
and costs $ 799 plus the cost of membership. The bike was created exclusively for Sam’s Club, which is part of the Walmart Inc. WMT,
portfolio. The Sport-s Connected Bike has a 10-inch screen, 32 resistance levels and six months membership. “The interest in indoor cycling is reaching new heights, but for many people the fact that someone owns it still feels out of reach financially,” Lou Lentine, CEO of Echelon Fitness, said in a statement. Peloton, which has dropped its shares by more than 32% for the year so far, was upgraded on Monday. Walmart shares have fallen 20.4% so far by 2021. And the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA benchmark,
is up 4.4% for the period.
