Sam Koch’s 15-year-old consecutive games are in jeopardy as Ravens punter goes on the COVID-19 list

OWINGS MILLS, Md. Sam Koch, the creator of Baltimore Ravens, was placed on the reserve / COVID-19 list on Wednesday, endangering his 15-year-old consecutive games.

Koch was kept out of Wednesday’s practice because his recent COVID-19 test came back unconvincing, a source told ESPN. He has not missed a game since being drafted by the Ravens in the sixth round in 2006, and he has played 239 games in a franchise record.

Further tests will determine how long Koch will be.

Koch’s possible loss comes days before the Ravens’ critical season finale at the Cincinnati Bengals. Baltimore (10-5) can pick up a wild card position by beating Cincinnati.

If Koch is out, kicker Justin Tucker will likely replace him. Tucker averaged 40.5 yards on 155 points in Texas.

The other issue is that Koch is the holder of extra points and field goals. Tighthead Mark Andrews took a few snaps as a keeper in training camp.
