The Boston Brewery announced the promotion Wednesday, with a silly TV spot to support the shot. The ad plays the comedic character “Your Cousin From Boston” by Sam Adams, who bothers the advertising firm Goodby, Silverstein & Partners as a sweet, rude and tumbling New Englander in all his trials, tribulations and toasts that no one asked for . “
In the quick cut, the current face of Sam Adams makes a fuss about receiving the vaccine, later reuniting them with friends in a bar and shouting ‘Sam’s on me!’

From April 12, the beer brand invites fans to do just that. After the major vaccinations, says Sam Adams, he will send $ 7 through Cash App for a beer at a favorite watering hole to anyone who posts a photo of their vaccination sticker or bandage on Instagram or Twitter, using the hashtag #ShotForSam .
“Sam Adams hopes drinkers will support the bars and restaurants they love,” the beer brand said. “So if you get vaccinated against Covid-19, we’ll buy back your first beer!”

The promotion is open to U.S. residents 21 years of age and older, according to official rules, with the gift closing on May 15, or until 10,000 entries are eligible.

While the intent was certainly sweet, Krispy Kreme was recently forced to defend himself after being criticized for offering free donuts to people who received the vaccine.
