Salud inaugurates the “VacuCenter” to access the register of vacancies against the COVID-19 in Iceland

The Department of Health in conjunction with the Office of Puerto Rico Innovation and Technology Service (PRITS) inaugurated this Monday at “VacuCenter”, a center dedicated to the manual entry of the dates of the people evacuated against the COVID-19 in the island and which will provide information to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC, in English).

“The intention is to collaborate with the providers of vacancies by entering the dates of the registers of the vacancies to find the numerical break between the number of vacancies received, administered and registered”, supported by Governor Pedro Pierluisi, during a press conference at the Convention Center, where the “VacuCenter” will be located.

According to the CDC data base, Puerto Rico has received 1,439,970 vacancies, of which 748,875 are administered, which is located in Puerto Rico as one of the jurisdictions with minor vacancy rates. Pero Salud has maintained that in reality this number is mayor and that the difference between the ranks is due to a significant decrease in the entry of the dates of the vacancies by the examiners, a process that is manual.

The Secretary of Designation of Salud, Carlos Mellado, has also added that, in addition to the number of 150 providers who have agreed with the agency for the administration of vacancies against COVID-19 in the island, there are other entities that receive doses of pharmacies direct form, mediante contract with the governor, like the Walgreens and CVS pharmacies, one of 70 community pharmacies, Costco, Walmart and the federal court, entities charged with registering data corresponding to the persons vacantan.

Currently, there are 100,000 weekly semesters in the island, 80,000 of which are distributed by Salud. “As for the effort that is being made, it is being mixed up with each provider so that you can enter all the dates”, subladó Mellado.

At the “VacuCenter” he read mainly the register documents of the evacuees in massive events, as well as those leading the Coalition of Vacancies VOCES and the National Guard. The center has 250 working people and the meta is 300. The total cost of the project, indicated by Enrique Völckers Nin, director of PRITS, is already around $ 700,000.

“The meta is able to enter 10,000 recorded diaries. The finals of the week are going to be like the big break ”, assures Völckers Nin, as long as the final meta is digitized throughout the vacancy data entry process.
