SALT LAKE CITY – Salt Lake City will continue last year’s trend of warmer weather for the month of March, with temperatures reaching its highs 50s and lows 60s this week.
The National Weather Service tweeted on Wednesday that Salt Lake City, for the first time since November 18, 2020, has finally reached the 60-degree mark.

The temperature reached a high of 61 degrees on Wednesday, with warmer weather during the week. KSL Weather predicted that Thursday will reach a high of 55 degrees, Friday will reach a high of 60 degrees, Saturday with a high of 62 degrees and Sunday with a high of 55 degrees.
The weather service said the temperatures recorded on Wednesday were about 10 degrees higher than average. Saturday’s 62 degrees come after last year’s record high temperature of 70 degrees, according to the National Weather Services Climate Book. The expected temperatures during the week are 5 to 10 degrees warmer than the average temperatures recorded on those days in March.
The warmer weather gives a glimpse of spring, with winter returning next Tuesday, where the weather will return to 48 degrees with rain and snow showers.
