Salma Hayek talks about ‘living with the pain’ of Harvey Weinstein after he misbehaved

The actress and accused of Harvey Weinstein, Salma Hayek, opened up about her thoughts on the shameful film magnate after his conviction for rape.

In 2017, the actress joined the myriad celebrity women with allegations of sexual misconduct against the once powerful Hollywood boss. She made her claims in a detailed essay written in The New York Times.

Hayek spoke to the Evening Standard ahead of the launch of her latest film, “Bliss,” again directly about Weinstein after being sentenced to 23 years in prison.

“The wonderful thing is, I thought I healed,” she said. “And then everything came out again and I realized that I did not heal, I suppressed and managed, adjusted, I went on, so there was a layer of healing, because it did not stop me from growing. But it was very very long painful.I did not know there are so many other women affected and that it went so deep.It was very shocking.But the fact that we [took action] together it made it really healing … I lived with it long enough and am now freeing myself from it. ‘

Hayek previously explained that she first had problems with Weinstein during the production of the film “Frida” in 2002. Although the film portrays her as the real feminist artist Frida Kahlo, she allegedly had the undesirable progress and bizarre power struggles of endured the Hollywood recording.

In her article for the New York Times, Hayek explains that she was delighted to develop a working relationship with Weinstein to tell the story of Kahlo, a personal hero of hers. She claims that the relationship has led to a myriad of awkward advances from him, such as asking her to massage him, to watch her shower and get naked with other women.

Hayek refused.

She claims that her passion project was inflicted at every turn by Weinstein’s insistence that her sex appeal was her only selling point, and claims that she should make shoehorn into a naked love scene.

Even then, he was not satisfied and allegedly almost refused to give the film a theatrical release. ‘Frida’ will, however, nominate six Oscars in 2003, including a Best Actress who nods to Hayek.

Last year, Harvey Weinstein began serving 23 years in prison after a New York jury found him guilty of raping and sexually assaulting two women.
