“I felt democracy was at a very dangerous point”: Sacha Baron Cohen revealed on Saturday that he had shown Borat 2 the “dangers” of Donald Trump for a second term.

“I thought the thing I could do to warn people was to use my funniest character, my most popular character, to show what I thought were the dangers of voting for Trump. I felt that democracy was at a very dangerous point. ‘

‘I assume that with this film I felt that I should be able to look at myself in the mirror [the day after election day] and say to myself: “I have done everything to protect a political system that I value – democracy”. ‘

Late last year, Sacha revived the beloved character for this year’s Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, the sequel to Borat of 2006.

He plays a bumpy Kazakh journalist who travels to America to learn more about their culture in the hilarious and sometimes incredible cartoons.

And after the filming of the movie, the outspoken actor admitted that there were some moments where he feared for his safety.

In a post on Instagram in October, Sacha shared a behind-the-scenes video of himself acting as Borat during a Trump rally.

The crowd quickly realized that he was joking with them before resorting angrily, forcing Sacha to flee the stage before locking himself in his trailer and chasing away.

“It was not the easiest movie to make,” he endorsed the frightening video.

Another clip from the film quickly went viral, as it showed an embarrassment involving Trump’s surrogate Rudy Giuliani.

‘Borat’s’ daughter Tutar’ played by Maria Bakalova took Giuliani to a hotel for a segment – one he assumed was a real interview.

During the series, he can be seen lying on a bed and putting his hand in his pants while ‘Tutar’ adjusts his microphone – he says, because he just fixed his shirt.

‘The Borat video is a complete fabrication. “I tucked my shirt in after taking off the recording equipment,” Giuliani snapped on Twitter.
