Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy are expected to return to Bears in 2021

For the past two days, Chicago Bears fans have been walking back and forth wondering what the team is going to do with Ryan Pace, general manager, and Matt Nagy, head coach, in the off-season. It appears that the answer will be revealed soon.

Several reports coming from Halas Hall indicate that Pace and Nagy will not be sacked and are expected to return to the Bears for the 2021 NFL season. The news was first reported as a rumor by The Chicago Tribunes Brad Biggs and later confirmed by Dan Wiederer, also of the Tribune.

The report comes nearly 48 hours after the Bears defeated the New Orleans Saints 21-9 in the playoffs, their second trip to the post-season in three seasons.

Pace, who has been the team’s general manager since 2015, has overseen just one season in which the team has finished with more than 0.500 since being appointed by the Bears. He re-appointed Nagy in 2018, setting a regular season record of 28-20 but coaching the team to 0.500 seasons. Nagy has also suffered a six-match losing streak in the past year.
