MOSCOW (AP) – An unmanned Russian cargo ship was successfully launched on Monday with a cargo of supplies for the International Space Station.
The Progress MS-16 cargo ship departed according to schedule at 09:45 (0445 GMT) from the Russian leased Baikonur launch facility in Kazakhstan and reached a designated lane on its way to the station.
It transports water, propellant and other supplies and will dock at the space outpost on Wednesday.
The outpost is now managed by Kate Rubins, Michael Hopkins, Victor Glover and Shannon Walker of NASA; The astronaut of Japanese spaceflight, Soichi Noguchi; and Sergey Ryzhikov and Sergey Kud-Sverchkov, Russian space agency Roscosmos.
