Russell Westbrook blames him for expulsion

Washington Wizards guard Russell Westbrook allowed his emotions to get the best of him during Friday’s 116-100 defeat to the Atlanta Hawks. Westbrook was sent off after earning two technical fouls due to Rajon Rondo.

While Westbrook and Rondo go back and forth throughout the game, Westbrook blamed himself for the ejection, saying he could not allow himself to ‘bend down to anyone’s level’.

Westbrook admitted there was a bit of rubbish talking, but said he should be better in those situations.

Russell Westbrook and Rajon Rondo went to play it all

It was pretty clear that Rondo and Westbrook had been fighting each other the entire game. Both players picked up their first techniques after falling out in the second quarter. Westbrook earned his second technical, and his expulsion, after bumping Rondo in the fourth quarter.

Rondo enjoyed a lot of joy in the development, immediately pointed to the locker room and waved to Westbrook as he walked off the track.

While Westbrook understands that he got confused here, he has a lot to be frustrated about this season. Despite Bradley Beal and Westbrook, the Wizards have the worst record in the NBA at 3-12.
