Rumor: Smash Ultimate Fans Think Fighters Pass Vol. 2 can get a bonus Seventh character

Can we get a bonus fighter as a last resort?

It feels like it’s not been a long time since we last sat down and got overwhelmed by a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate rumor – probably because the majority who find their way to the internet are completely false nonsense – but here’s one that maybe just have something for it.

A Reddit user named RiuBert theorized that the game’s second series DLC, the ‘Super Smash Bros.’ Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 2 ‘, could very well get a bonus seventh character above the six slots already promised.

As RiuBert explains in their post, all games, DLCs and product bundles have a unique code (known as an NSUID) on Nintendo’s official website. With the first set of DLC characters, from Piranha Plant to the first addition of the first Fighters Pass, Byleth, the DLC codes are ordered chronologically from 70050000008501 to 70050000008506. Then follows the bonus offered by Rex Mii costume to those who first buy Fighters Pass, which ends in ‘8507’.

(As a headline, take the links to Nintendo’s New Zealand website, where NSUID codes are properly displayed within the URL of the page).

Things are getting a little more interesting now as we look at Fighters Pass Vol. 2. As before, the warriors are listed chronologically (Min Min is 70050000018967, to Pyra / Mythra at 70050000018970, with ‘18971’ and ‘18972’ reserved for the two unannounced characters). This time, however, the Pass bonus Ancient Helm + Gear costume reward is not listed directly thereafter, with an NSUID of 70050000018974, rather than ending with ‘18973’. Instead, this mysterious ‘18973’ ‘is currently unavailable’. Still with us?

It would then appear that Nintendo has yet to announce something after the sixth DLC fighter. Immediate, too excited thoughts jump to a potential seventh fighter, which may be true, though it may also be related to an echo fighter, another bonus costume, or something else.

What do you think? Is there something in this? Can you see Nintendo taking out a surprising character to end things at once? Let us avoid raising our hopes also much in the comments below.
