Ruby’s Dinner at Huntington Beach Pier Closes Doors Permanently

HUNTINGTON BEACH, California (KABC) – This is the end of an era for an iconic restaurant on Huntington Beach Pier. Ruby’s Diner closes doors permanently on Friday.

In 2018, the owner of the Ruby’s chain filed for bankruptcy.

Visitors were seen standing outside the eatery on Friday waiting to get one last meal.

The restaurant has a spectacular location, right there at the tip of the pier.

Ruby’s replaces the previous restaurant, which fell into the sea during a major storm that damaged the pier in the late ’80s.

City officials told the Orange County Register that the facility was purchased by a new ownership group that plans to eventually open a seafood restaurant there.
