Round-up at Arsenal: Mesut Ozil leaves last, Gunners boost Liverpool Folarin Balogun

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta continues to revamp his squad while still pushing the Gunners to the Premier League table.

The Gunners are now within touching distance of the Europa League qualifiers after three consecutive victories over West Brom, Chelsea and Brighton.

Mesut Ozil is reportedly in line to follow Sead Kolasnic at the exit door, with the German playmaker reportedly in talks with a move to Fenerbahce.

There is still a need for reinforcement, as Arteta wants to express his vision on the team, now that the transfer window has started in January, but it remains to be seen where the Spaniard will aim for the time being.

Here’s the latest Arsenal transfer news.

Mesut Ozil’s agent admitted that he and his client started looking at a move away from the club.

Reports in Turkey have claimed that the 32-year-old will join Fenerbahce on a three-year deal, which Dr. Erkut Sogut did not confirm or deny.

“We are not allowed to speak legally before January 1, and now we are just starting to look at the options with the numbers and details,” Sogut told ESPN on Wednesday.

Ozil will leave Arsenal freely when his contract expires in the summer, but could still leave this month if he can make a move that works for all parties.

Gunners boost Liverpool Folarin Balogun

Folarin Balogun may be set to move to Liverpool

Liverpool could stand in line for a surprise deal to sign Folarin Balogun for free from Arsenal.

Arteta would like to drop players off in January, and The Independent claims that Balogun, along with eight other players, is considered a surplus to the requirements.

The update is welcome news for the Premier League champions, with Liverpool’s big fans of the teenager.

As his contract expires at the end of the season, Balogun has the right to talk to foreign clubs about a future free transfer and even sign an agreement before the contract.

But if Liverpool want him, they will have to agree an amount with Arsenal to take him now, or they will have to wait for the summer and hope he is still available.

Daka fuel transfer links with claim claim

Patson Daka claims he wants to emulate some of the Premier League’s biggest stars

RB Salzburg forward Patson Daka is set to emulate Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Liverpool stars Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

Daka (22) is a target for some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs, while Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United are believed to be monitoring the midfielder.

And he could stand in line for a move to an English club, after insisting he wants to match the African talent currently on display in the leading exhibition.

“Seeing our big brothers like Aubameyang, Salah, Mane is something that gives me the dream that I can make it too,” Daka told BBC Sport.

“I can be like them. They are my inspiration because I know they come from Africa too.

“I think when people make such comparisons, it’s great to look at the status of Sadio Mane, the kind of football he plays and the kind of person he is.”
