We are less than three weeks away from the actual draft and the closer we get to April 29, the more it feels like certain players will end up at certain teams. The top two picks feel as close to certain things as the time of year, and the 49ers also appear to be taking their quarterback of the future. After that, however, this concept feels like quoting Bruce Arians, color commentator, “wide hole open. ”
It’s reasonable to expect at least one of the teams to pull up for a quarter in the bottom half of the first round, and that’s exactly what’s happening in this week’s spot. Former NFL executive Michael Lombardi said last week that Trey Lance’s football team likes him and that he would not be surprised if they traded to get him. So this is what we have going on – WFT moves to number 8 and Carolina gets no. 18, no. 74 and a second round of 2022.
