Sen Rom Mitt Romney was knocked unconscious when he fell in Boston over the weekend, leaving him with ‘many stitches’ and a black eye.
“I fell. Knock me unconscious. But I’m doing better, ”Romney told reporters on Monday night at Capitol Hill.
The Republican in Utah said he was visiting his grandchildren when he was injured.
With noticeable bruises under his right eye, Romney infused humor into the situation.
“I went to CPAC, it was a problem,” the Republican lawmaker said, referring to the Conservative political action conference that ended Sunday.
Romney was not invited to the party event after receiving backlash over his vote to accuse former President Donald Trump.
When asked how many stitches he received, Romney claims he is not sure.
