Roger Waters states in 2022 that this is not an exercise

Roger Waters will embark on his first “farewell tour” next summer, officially called ‘This Is Not a Drill’, with the plague he is teasing. He was supposed to launch the trek last year, but pandemic shutdowns ignored his plans. The new series of dates begins on July 6, 2022 in Pittsburgh.

Tickets are on sale now via RogerWaters.com. Those who have held tickets for the 2020 dates will receive an email with more information about the new dates. These tickets are valid for the new dates.

“This Is Not A Drill is a groundbreaking new rock & roll / film extravaganza being run around,” Waters wrote in a statement. ‘This is a wonderful accusation of the corporate dystopia in which we all struggle to survive, and a call to action to love, protect and share our precious and insecure planet house. The show features a dozen amazing songs from Pink Floyd’s Golden Era, along with several new ones – words and music, the same author, the same heart, the same soul, the same man. Could be his last hurray. Wow! My first farewell tour! Do not miss it. Love, R. ”

When Waters announced the tour last year, he promised a brand new production following his Us + Them and the Wall tours offered around the world.

When he originally planned it, he determined that it would run until the 2020 election. ‘[The new tour] will be even more political than Us + they were – political and human, ”Waters said Rolling clip in 2019. “Today we listened to songs and looked at set lists. We talked, what should we call it? I will not have to give it away, but I do not give a shit, because it will probably change everything, but think the iconic helicopter that normally comes before ‘Happiest days’ and ‘Brick 2’ – that sound we all know and like – and imagine a megaphone, someone has abused this device before, I know – but: ‘It’s not an exercise.’ I thought it might be a good title for the show: This Is Not a Drill. The ruling class is killing us. ”
