House Administration board member Rodney Davis, R-Ill., On Sunday complained to Democrats about their decision to build a plexiglass structure in the room to allow members exposed to COVID-19 to speak to the speaker House to vote.
Davis argued that the ‘lack of communication with the minority’ makes the move ‘100% political’.
“This is absolutely against everything we are told during the entire pandemic for home operations,” Davis told reporters Sunday. “Building a structure in the dark of night and protecting only the voices that Speaker Pelosi needs to be elected speaker is shameful.”

Rep. Nancy Pelosi garnered enough votes on Sunday night to achieve her fourth term as home speaker and earned 216 votes out of the 427 votes cast.
The California Democrat, who has led her party in the House since 2003 and is the only woman to speak, was widely expected to retain her post. Pelosi received 216 votes to 209 for representative Kevin McCarthy, R-California, who will again be the chamber’s minority leader.
Pelosi faced five departures from her party, with Representative Jared Golden, D-Maine, voting for Democratic Illinois Senator Tammy Duckworth, and Representative Conor Lamb, D-Pa. .Y.
In addition, Democratic representatives Mikie Sherrill of New Jersey, Abigail Spanberger of Virginia and Elissa of Michigan each voted ‘present’.

This will likely be Pelosi’s last term as House Speaker based on her promise to the caucus.
According to Fox News’ Chad Pergram, Republicans will use Pelosi’s keynote speech as a wedge issue in the 2022 midterms and, under her leadership, cast arms among vulnerable Democrats.
