Rockstar has confirmed that it will release an update that made a recent solution for fans to reduce the painfully long download time of Grand Theft Auto Online by up to 70 percent.

After a bit of tampering, t0st came up with a solution that managed to reduce GTA Online’s load times from six minutes to one minute and 50 seconds – a reduction of almost 70 percent. The solution was shared to GitHub and the world waited to see if Rockstar would respond. And now it has.

“After a thorough investigation, we can confirm that the player first revealed an aspect of the game code related to the download times for the PC version of GTA Online that could be improved,” the company said in a statement provided to PC. Gamer.

Rockstar has not shared any details about its solution – there is no indication that the official implementation will have a similar 70 percent load time reduction as, for example, those experienced by t0st – and there is still no word on a time frame for the official release.
