Rock that looks like Cookie Monster could be worth more than $ 10,000

It’s worth a lot of cookies.

A rock recently discovered in Brazil could reportedly fetch more than $ 10,000 – because it has a strange resemblance to ‘Sesame Street”s Cookie Monster.

The volcanic rock is split open and consists of blue quartz crystals with gaps that reflect the iconic cookie-loving character’s round white eyes and gaping smile.

Geologist Mike Bowers, who currently owns the unusual agate gemstone, told The Sun he had seen other similar rocks, but that “it’s probably the most perfect cookie monster out there.”

“It’s rare for someone to be so well defined,” he said.

Bowers posted footage of the rock on his Facebook account this month – saying he has since been offered $ 10,000 by five different buyers.

“The prices can be very high,” he told the website.

The agate – a type of quartz found in ancient lava cavities – was recovered from the Rio Grande do Sul region in Brazil in November, Bowers said.
