Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2021 nominees unveiled

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominations are being led by several heavy hitters this year.

Jay-Z, Tina Turner, Foo Fighters and Iron Maiden are the heads of the 36th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nomination. The women’s nominations also include Dionne Warwick, Mary J. Blige and the Go-Go’s.

Go-Go’s bassist Kathy Valentine on Wednesday welcomed her nomination, tweet, “Great news to wake up to and find out that @officialgogos has been nominated for the @rockhall.”

“~ Thanks to our wonderful fans and advocates. The Go-Go’s are the right thing, straight from the clubs from LA to the top, self-taught and driven. Keep up with sisters,” she continued.

To be eligible for a Hall of Fame nomination, artists must be at least 25 years removed from the release of their first official recording. This is the case with rapper Jay-Z, who released ‘Reasonable Doubt’ in 1996; and Foo Fighters with their self-titled debut in 1995.
