Riverside County has announced several new dates for the next clinic. The appointment will open Saturday afternoon.
Approximately 10,000 appointments are available for health professionals at all levels of Phase 1A; essential workers in phase 1B level 1; and individuals 65 years or older, officials said. All clinics on Mondays and Fridays will be booked for seniors only.
Clinics will be located in Corona, Menifee, Beaumont and Indio.
“This is welcome news for so many of our residents who are extremely eager to get the vaccine,” Riverside County Board of Supervisors Karen Spiegel said in a statement Friday. ‘We’m just as eager to get our weekly vaccines so we can offer more appointments. The provincial team is doing a tremendous job of vaccinating thousands of people at these public health clinics within days of receiving the vaccine. ‘
Complaints about the scheduling were common though because residents, including many elderly people, struggle with a troublesome website and busy phone lines. The country acknowledged the problems Thursday and later changed the website link.
Provincial officials said there was a technical problem in the website code, which was found at the same time that the website opened the 3900 appointment slots on Thursday.

“If an individual is unable to provide proof of eligibility, or does not have an appointment, he or she will be rejected,” the country said in the release. According to the province, medical insurance information is requested, but it is not necessary.
The new website address is rivcoph.org/COVID-19-Vaccine. The province advises residents 65 years or older who need help registering for an appointment to call 2-1-1, although residents have reported problems with the phone lines.
Juan Perez, the province’s interim chief executive, said the province’s Aging office takes names of people who call to ask for help so they can follow up.
FYI: No, you can not ‘walk’ to COVID-19 vaccine clinics without registering

Public Information Officer Brooke Federico said the 2-1-1 system is adding additional callers, who speak English and Spanish, to handle the expected increase in calls for the next round of appointments. Thursday’s website spending sent an influx of people calling the country’s hotline, which then also crashed, she said.
Once you click the button to sign up for an appointment, the subsequent portal is managed by the state. If all appointments are booked during the completion of the registration of the state, users can not secure a time.
