Wilson recently said she and her husband of more than 30 years have yet to be vaccinated.
“How about the first time in your life, ‘You’m not old enough,'” she said. “It’s like, ‘OK, I’ll take it!'”
“But we are in line now because so many people are being vaccinated and that they are going to the next level,” she added.
The couple were diagnosed while in Australia. Hanks was filming Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis Presley movie in which Hanks played the singer’s manager Colonel Tom Parker, and Wilson was on tour for her latest album ‘Halfway to Home’.
Wilson told “Today” that it was extraordinary to discover that they were wearing the antibodies because you knew you had protection. Therefore, the vaccine also helps people. “
“To see people embracing each other for the first time in a year, grandparents embracing their grandchildren, people embracing their parents, there is nothing like it,” she said. “It really is a gift.”
