Rising waters flood highways along the central coast

A storm that is pouring large amounts of rainfall on the Central Coast is flooding roads across the region and forcing many to close.

In San Luis Obispo, San Luis Bay is Dr. closed from Highway 101 to Monte Rd. However, some drivers plowed through the rising waters.

The closure began Thursday morning just before 8 p.m.

Just south, floodwaters also closed large passages in the Santa Maria-Guadalupe area.

Near Orcutt, Caltrans Highway 1 closes between Solomon Rd. and Swartweg. That closure can last most of the day.
