Riotous Capitol accused of stealing Nancy Pelosi’s laptop with plans to sell it to Russian intelligence: Feds

Authorities want to arrest a woman in Pennsylvania who is accused of seizing a laptop at the Nancy Pelosi office during the January 6 siege of the US Capitol, with the alleged intent to hand over the device to To sell Russian intelligence forces, officials announced in recent court documents.

The FBI is looking for Riley June Williams, a woman from Harrisburg who linked investigators to the events on Capitol Hill earlier this month. According to an arrest warrant filed Sunday night, a tipster called the FBI’s hotline and told authorities they spotted her in videos of the siege.

The unidentified tipster said Williams’ friends showed the person a video of Williams’ taking a laptop or hard drive from Pelosi’s office, ‘court documents read.

The tipster “stated that WILLIAMS intended to send the computer device to a friend in Russia, who then planned to sell the device to SVR, Russian foreign intelligence service. [the tipster]”the transfer of the computer device to Russia failed for unknown reasons and WILLIAMS still destroyed the computer device or destroyed it,” reads the warrant.

The investigation into the stolen technology is still ongoing.

A Pelosi spokesman on Monday did not respond to Fox News’ request for comment. Pelosi deputy chief of staff Drew Hammill confirmed in a January 8 tweet that a laptop had been stolen.

The tipster indicated that Williams was seen in footage from a British news website, ITV News, wearing a brown trench coat over a green top.

In the first of two ITV news items mentioned in the warrant, a woman who appears to be Williams’ can be heard repeatedly shouting: ‘Above, above, above’, and other intruders can be seen physically instructing to go up a flight of stairs, ‘court documents state. Investigators confirmed that the stairs lead to Pelosi’s office.

In the second ITV News clip, Williams’ mother told a reporter that she recognized her daughter in the US Capitol building and that her daughter was suddenly interested in President Trump’s politics and ‘far-right message boards’, the warrant reads.

She told the reporter that Williams had ‘taken off’ and that she did not know where her daughter was. She also changed her phone number and apparently deleted several social media accounts.

Williams allegedly traveled to DC with her father on Jan. 6, but divorced him during the day, the warrant reads.

She is wanted on charges of knowingly entering a restricted building and violently entering and disorderly conduct.
