Retro hits the road

Ford’s modern Bronco has not even reached dealerships yet, but the carmaker is already preparing some new variants.

One will be a high-performance model in the line of a Raptor (we think it will be called a warthog), and another looks like a retro-inspired model, judging by our latest espionage recordings.

The espionage footage shows a common Bronco prototype in heavy camouflage devices, but if you look a little closer, you see some unique elements.

The most obvious difference to earlier Bronco prototypes is the design of the wheels that resemble the four-slot wheels found in the original Bronco of the 1960s. We bet they’re even white, just like in the original.

Another clue is the white grille in front. If you look closely, you will also see red splashes through the camouflage equipment. The red sections probably spell ‘Ford’ or ‘Bronco’, another setback to the original Bronco. A 1968 custom Bronco possession owned by Jay Leno indicates what’s coming.

There are no photos of the interior, but you can also count on some retro directions here.

Ford has unveiled special editions of the Heritage Edition version of its GT supercar, and perhaps this is the same name the carmaker will use for its retro-inspired Bronco. Currently, we expect the new variant to come as a 2022 model late this year.

The modern Bronco would originally start delivering in the spring, but Ford delayed it until the summer. The base engine is a 2.3-liter turbocharged inline-4 with a nominal value of 270 hp, which is available with a 7-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic motor. Above is a 2.7 liter twin-turbo V-6 good for 310 hp, which is only available with the automatic car. The starting price for 2021 Bronco is $ 29,995, including the destination.
