Resident Evil Village Ray Tracing requires AMD RX 6800 XT GPU

Resident Evil Village is only two months and two days away from the planned launch date on May 7th. Earlier this week, during the unveiling of its RX 6700 XT GPU, AMD revealed that it has partnered with CAPCOM to add ray tracing features and AMD Fidelity FX effects to the PC version.

However, according to this page on AMD’s website, Resident Evil Village will actually need an AMD RX 6800 XT GPU to perform its radiation tracking functions. The CPU requirement (AMD Ryzen 5 1600), on the other hand, is quite low and remains the same with or without ray tracing.

Resident Evil Village supports AMD FidelityFX and Ray Tracing on PC

It is unclear whether NVIDIA users will enable ray tracing on their GeForce RTX graphics cards with the launch. Godfall, for example, introduced its Reflective Reflections as an exclusive AMD graphics card that lasted three months before the latest update supported the NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPUs. We also do not know exactly what Fidelity FX effects will be implemented in Resident Evil Village; However, Resident Evil 3 (powered by the RE Engine, just like the new game), supported FidelityFX CAS.

The brand new story begins with Ethan Winters and his wife Mia living peacefully in a new place, free from their previous nightmares, a few years after the horrific events in the much acclaimed Resident Evil 7 bio danger. Just as they are building their new life together, the tragedy strikes them again.

Key features:

  • First Person Action – Players take on the role of Ethan Winters and experience every close battle and terrifying pursuit from a first-person perspective.
  • Bestry – You must use numerous weapons and objects against aggressive opponents and add tools to your artillery for situations outside of combat.
  • Resource management – Keeping track of your healing items and ammunition is incredibly important for survival horror. Stay well-filled for the battles ahead.
  • Famous faces and new enemies – Chris Redfield was usually a hero in the Resident Evil series, but his appearance in Resident Evil Village seems to cover him in sinister motives. Quite a few new adversaries inhabiting the town will relentlessly hunt down Ethan and hinder every move as he tries to make sense of the new nightmare in which he finds himself.
