German scientists have found that the administration of the AstraZeneca vaccine could possibly produce antibodies that in turn could stimulate the formation of blood clots in “rare” cases, as the WHO does not see such a “causal” link.
A research team from Greifswald University Hospital in Germany has discovered a mechanism that could lead to the development of sinus or cerebral arterial thrombosis in patients who received the AstraZeneca jab.
The team received six blood samples from people who suffered from thrombosis after taking the jab. The samples were provided by the Paul Ehrlich Institute – the body responsible for approving and monitoring all vaccines in Germany.
After the analysis, the Greifswald researchers found that an immune response to the vaccine could include the formation of antibodies that are normally formed only if an organism needs to heal a wound through blood clotting, the German broadcaster NDR reported.
These antibodies then “Activate” the platelets and can stimulate the formation of blood clots, especially in the venous sinuses of the brain.

The team’s conclusions, which have yet to be published in any scientific journal, were then shared by the German Research Association for Thrombosis and Hemostasis (GTH), which has issued a new guideline for patients receiving the vaccine.
The association’s statement states that the Greifswald team has a “Important pathomechanism” but still noted that such complications are “Specific and very rare.” It also said that the discovery does not rule out the situation in which thrombosis in patients who had the AstraZeneca jab was caused by “Other causes.”
The GTH also said it had recorded at least 13 cases of sinus or cerebral arterial thrombosis in those vaccinated with the AstraZeneca jab in Germany, including 12 women and one man between 20 and 63 years old. All patients had similar symptoms probably caused by an “Immunological event,” it added.
The Greifswald team has meanwhile also suggested an effective treatment for people suffering from thrombosis after vaccination. However, it can only be administered after the blood clots have appeared and can not be used as a prevention.
In the light of the latest developments, the GTH has issued a new recommendation to encourage anyone suffering from persistent headaches, dizziness or impaired vision to undergo a special examination more than three days after vaccination to reduce the risk of thrombosis to relieve and get medical help in a timely manner.

European leaders seek to restore confidence in AstraZeneca Covid vaccine by getting or promising to get jabs after blood clot fears
The news came when the World Health Organization (WHO) issued its own statement on the safety of the AstraZeneca vaccine, saying the jab was still A positive benefit-risk profile. ‘ The World Health Vaccine Vaccine Security Advisory Committee has reviewed data from Europe, the UK and India, as well as its own global database, and said it did not find any. “Any overall increase in solidification conditions” linked to the vaccine.
The WHO also said that this is not the case “Sure” that “Very rare and unique thrombo-embolic events” such as cerebral venous sinus thrombosis “Caused by vaccination.”
A causal link between these rare events has not yet been determined, ‘ it said.
German scientists are not the first to point to a link between the AstraZeneca vaccine and thrombosis. Earlier, similar conclusions were presented by Norwegian specialists. The European Medicines Agency (EMA) on Thursday once again considered safe and effective after a week-long investigation.
The decision prompted some European countries that had previously stopped using the vaccine out of concern about health risks to resume administration. German Chancellor Angela Merkel also said on Friday that she would “Definitely” vaccinated with the AstraZeneca jab.
The chancellor has spoken out in favor of using the Russian Sputnik V vaccine in case of EU approval. If Brussels does not place any orders for the Russian sting after the approval, Berlin could quite possibly do it on its own, she added.
