A dog is praised for rescuing an elderly blind pit bull from drowning in their family’s pool in Argentina on December 19.
A security camera in the backyard of Julieta Firpo captures the moment when her pit bull, Luna, was walking near the edge of the pool before accidentally falling into the water.
In a Facebook post, she said that 14-year-old Luna had recently become ‘disoriented’.
When the other dog of the family, Caipirinha, saw her fellow dogs slipping into the water, she rushed for help.

At one point, Luna swam to the corner of the pool and Caipirinha touched her nose. Moments later, she seemed to be leading the pit bull along the water’s edge to the stairs.
When Luna reaches the stairs, Caipirinha grabs Luna’s collar and drags her out of the water to safety. The pit bull lay on the porch for a moment before getting up and walking away.
Firpo said the two dogs became friends after her family rescued Caipirinha during their vacation in Brazil when they saw her owners dump her out of a car window at a gas station.
