Matthew Stafford has been traded and Carson Wentz is expected to be dealt with soon in a move that will make other teams look for a quarterback with one option less.

Some of these teams may focus their attention on Jets fullback Sam Darnold. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that teams have called the Jets about the prospect of trading for Darnold.

As of now, the Jets have turned down the calls because they have not yet set their course for the off-season. With the 2nd overall pick, they will likely have their choice as non-Trevor Lawrence backs to pick at that spot.

They can also use the pick for a player at a different position, swap it for more choice to build Darnold or another quarterback, or use it as part of a trading package for a player like Deshaun Watson. Deciding on one of these paths must take place before the team can make any move in which Darnold is involved.
