According to SteelBet, the Steelers are a strong favorite to land JJ Watt.

The Steelers make sense, as both Watt’s brothers, TJ and Derek, are already playing in Pittsburgh. However, the Steelers will have to create a hood to add a third Watt.

Although teams do not yet know the final salary limit for 2021, the teams are not waiting until they are interested in Watt.

Watt officially became a free agent at 4pm ET, and according to ES WNN’s Ed Werder, some 12 teams reported with Watt’s presentation. According to Werder, the teams include the Steelers, Browns, Bills and Titans.

Everyone makes sense.

The Titans’ 19 pockets were the least in the NFL last season, and another ex-Texan, Jadeveon Clowney, did not work as expected. Titans head coach Mike Vrabel was previously Watt’s defense coordinator in Houston.

The Browns could lose Olivier Vernon in the free agency and have a hood space.

The Bills, who made it to the AFC Championship Game, could pair Watt with Jerry Hughes and probably improve on the 38 bags they had in 2020.

Other teams also have a clear need as to whether they look fit for Watt, who left the Texans after 128 starts, 101 sacks, 172 tackles for loss, 282 quarterback hits, 25 forced fumbles and 16 fumble recoveries.

Mike Florio, Myles Simmons and I held a draft PFT PM Friday afternoon suggested nine possible landing sites for Watt.
