The Sixers are looking for a point guard. Two players the team inquired about are Detonit’s Delon Wright and George Hill of Oklahoma City, a source said.

Jason Dumas, an NBA reporter for Bleacher Report, reported that the Sixers inquire in the league about two guards: Delon Wright and George Hill. This is the second Sixers trade rumor we’ve heard in the past week. Last week we saw several reports that the Sixers are interested in Sacramento’s huge interest: Nemanja Bjelica.
The combination of these two reports shows that Daryl Morey’s interest is in the right place, as the Sixers need a bigger and more reliable game guard. If the Sixers manage to get two types of players in each of these categories, it could improve an already good Sixers team for a national season.
If we return to the report, both of these guardians would help the Sixers. Delon Wright is experiencing a career season with the rebuilding of the Detroit Pistons, who were put in a starting role after their first-choice Killian Hayes came down with a labral tear in his hip. Wright has an average number for the Pistons: 10.4 PPG, 4.9 APG, 4.7 RPG and 1.4 SPG. Some will recall that one of his best games this season came against the Sixers, as Detroit defeated an Embiid-less team. Wright scored a season-high 28 points that night.
Looking to the west, it’s no surprise that the Sixers inquired about George Hill. He is a respected veteran who has aged well over time and delivers great teams with Cleveland and Milwaukee. Hill was sent through a series of transactions following the rebuilding of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Hill had another productive season with the Thunder until he recently came down with a thumb injury. Through 14 matches, he compiled a respected statline of 11.8 PPG, 3.1 APG, 2.1 RPG and 0.9 SPG.
Hill of Wright will score a much-needed play and points for the Sixers – who have lacked such skills due to a Shake Milton injury and Tyrese Maxey who has moved through his rookie season.
Both players earn a comparable salary and have different strengths in different areas. Hill would bring reliable guard defense and perimeter shooting. He actually led the NBA in a 3-point percentage last season with the Milwaukee Bucks on a scorching 46 percent from behind the arc. Wright, on the other hand, would score three points to the team. He’s the best when hitting against the edge, and he’s developed a decent shot that should respect the defense.
See if these trade rumors get any louder as we get closer to the March 25 deadline.
