Report: NBA G League investigator Jeremy Lin called ‘Coronavirus’ in play | Bleacher Report

The NBA is launching an investigation after guard Jeremy Lin said he was called “coronavirus” while playing for the Santa Cruz Warriors, according to Shams Charania of Stadium and The Athletic.

Lin booked Thursday via a Facebook post the racism he and other Asian Americans experienced:

Lin, who played nine seasons in the NBA, is in his first year at Golden State’s subsidiary in the G-League.

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr backed the investigation ahead of his team’s home game Friday against the Charlotte Hornets.

“I confirm his sentiments regarding racism against the Asian American community,” Kerr added by Kendra Andrews of NBC Sports Bay Area. “It’s just ridiculous.”

Lin discussed and recounted his experiences with racism in court in the past former NBA teammate Randy Foye in 2017 on Shot outside that fans and opponents shouted racist remarks at him when he played for Harvard from 2006 to 2010.
