Report: Microsoft is planning an Xbox event next for the game

Xbox has been on fire lately and has dominated the waves with massive drops for Xbox Game Pass, including Outriders and the PlayStation-developed MLB: The Show. Microsoft also held a March ID @ Xbox event where they recently showcased dozens of games in partnership with Twitch. According to a new report by leading Microsoft expert Mary Jo Foley on ZDNet, Microsoft is not slowing down.

The news comes hot on the heels of Microsoft’s announcement for Build 2021, the firm’s major developer conference, scheduled for May 25 to May 27. As part of these events, Foley notes that Microsoft is planning a series of smaller “What’s Next” virtual events, including a feature specifically tailored for games. Foley also notes that this is so not the upcoming Game Stack Live event, scheduled for April.

Microsoft is complementing its major, larger conferences this year with smaller “What’s Next” virtual events. An “What’s Next for Gaming” event is expected in the coming weeks. The Game Stack Live event that also appears on the US event page is not the event, I hear.

Since this event will be part of Microsoft’s Build Festivals, we’re unlikely to see any new games here. What you can expect, however, are new features and technologies that Microsoft is working to improve the life of dev in the game space. We were able to take a look at the new graphics technology and features planned for future versions of the Xbox tool system, as well as features coming to the Xbox platform in general.

VPN Offers: Lifetime License for $ 16, Monthly Plans for $ 1 and More

Microsoft has previously done consumer announcements at Build in the past and also unveiled new products and services. It may be on this occasion that the planned expansion of Xbox Game Pass to web browsers is announced, offering the all-you-can-eat gaming service to iOS, Chromebooks, MacOS and low-power computers and laptops. Given Microsoft’s widespread discussions about acquiring the gaming commission platform Discord, this would also be an appropriate time to shed light on what the partnership means for the Xbox platform and beyond.
