Mark Brunell interviewed the Lions, and apparently it went well.
NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero reports the Lions are expect to rent Brunell as their full-back coach.
Brunell, 50, started working in broadcasting after retiring from the NFL. His last season was 2011 with the Jets.
The Lions ‘attacking coordinator, Anthony Lynn, was the Jets’ fullback during Brunell’s two seasons as a rugby quarterback. Brunell was a quarterback for the Saints in 2009, when Lions head coach Dan Campbell was a tight end.
Brunell will have to wait to see who the Lions’ starting line-up for 2021 will be. The Lions are trading Matthew Stafford after 12 seasons.
