NFL teams may start talking to free agents on March 15, and there’s a word about who the Browns can call once the legal tampering is open.

Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot reports that Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David is on the team’s radar as an upgrade for their defense. David had 117 tackles, 1.5 sacks, an interception, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries for the Bucs during the 2020 season.

David has spent his entire nine years of career in Tampa and will likely have many suitors if he enters the open market. Bucs head coach Bruce Arians and general manager Jason Licht have expressed a desire to make it happen, but the Bucs have several free agencies, so that may not be possible.

BJ Goodson and Malcolm Smith played the most free throws for the Browns last season. Both will be free throws and that probably means the lineout forward will have a different look, even if David does not make it to Cleveland.
