Report: Lakers announce brand new starting lineup for game against Pelicans

The extremely short-lived Los Angeles Lakers are about to take the court against the New Orleans Pelicans, sans LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Their new starting lineup has a surprise, as their regular starting center, Marc Gasol, still cannot play because he is placed in the NBA’s COVID-19 protocol for health and safety.

Devontae Cacok has a two-way contract with both the Lakers and the South Bay Lakers of the G-League. At 6-foot-8, he is undersized in the pivot point, but he weighs 240 pounds.

He showed some potential as a rebounder and as someone who could use his physicality to his advantage.

After the Lakers won their first four games after the All-Star break, they have now lost rugby matches.

With both its superstars for an unknown time, the team could very well end up in a long slump and lose ground in the West Conference position unless multiple players act offensively.
